DJ Gabby to make grand return at GenXS Battlefield
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Following a two- year hiatus from the local music scene, model turned disc jockey, DJ Gabby, is set to return to the turntables at GenXS Immortal’s Battlefield on Saturday at the Liguanea Club.
Set to get underway at 6:00 am, the event dubbed ‘the Biggest, Baddest Wet Fete’ will see DJ Gabby joining the likes of Walshy Fire and DJ Young Chow at the consoles.
In a release on Friday, DJ Gabby, who will be the lone female disc jockey on the lineup, said she is looking forward to making her local return.
“”The last time I performed in Jamaica was in 2021 at Usain Bolt’s Tracks and Records.I’m really excited to come home and get back to where it all started. I am excited to join other talented and amazing female DJs bringing my own special vibe to entertainment at events, in clubs and on the airwaves across the island,” she said.
No stranger to playing spinning soca hits at key events, DJ Gabby said she’s bent on bringing “a whole vibe to the stage.”
“I’m a woman of many talents & I don’t believe in limits. I like to try different avenues. DJ Gabby can’t be put in a box – I am a whole vibe,” she said, adding that aside from this weekend’s event, she’s looking forward to Carnival in Jamaica come April.
“I am excited to be home for Carnival as I recently partnered with GEN XS Carnival. I will be DJing on the truck for the first time and as the only female DJ alongside some very talented DJs. It will be a very glam DJ Gabby moment thanks to Glam Hub! They have the best MUAs, and hair stylists and of course help with costume tweaks. I’m excited,” she said.
