Cop charged with death by dangerous driving granted bail
ST MARY, Jamaica – A police constable who allegedly mowed down a Windsor Castle, St Mary in August 2022 was offered bail in the sum of $500,000 when he appeared in the Port Maria court on Thursday.
Otroy Stewart, who is assigned to the office of the commissioner of police, is charged with death by dangerous driving.
Reports are that on August 13, 2022, Linval Williams, 66, a farmer of Windsor Castle, was packing goods in the trunk of his vehicle when the vehicle that Stewart was driving slammed into Williams.
Williams was left paralysed and later succumbed to the injuries.
The accident was captured on CCTV. Stewart will return to court on February 14.
