19-y-o facing attempted rape, forcible abduction charges
ST JAMES, Jamaica – A 19-year-old man is facing multiple charges, including attempted rape, following an incident in his community earlier this month involving a minor.
Charged is Marlon Samuels of Flamstead Gardens in St James.
Reports from the Montego Bay police are that about 4:00 pm, the minor was on her way from a nearby shop when she saw Samuels at a house. He reportedly told her to come over to the house but she refused and continued to walk. Samuels allegedly grabbed her by her hands, pulled her inside the house and locked the door, following which he attempted to assault her.
The minor reportedly bit Samuels on his hand and managed to escape.
She reported the incident to her mother, who took her to the Centre of Investigation for Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA).
Samuels was subsequently arrested and later pointed out during an Identification Parade on Wednesday, January 24.
He was charged with forcible abduction, attempted rape and sexual touching of a child. His court date is being arranged.
