Free vision board workshop for high school girls in St James
MORE than 100 female students from high schools in St James will be part of a free vision board workshop on Saturday, January 27, hosted by We Inspire Women and Girls.
Now in its eighth year, We Inspire Women founder and Chief Executive Officer Cortia Bingham McKenzie beamed with pride as she shared her continued motivation to positively inspire and impact the lives of women and girls.
“I strongly believe that my gift and purpose is to be of service to others, and that my calling — ever since I founded We Inspire Women eight years ago — is to inspire women and girls far and wide to dream big and to live a life of intention, regardless of their past or present circumstances”, she said.
The vision board workshop is the first in a series of events that Bingham McKenzie will be hosting throughout the year. She said the workshop, being the first event, is intended to set the right tone for the year.
“The importance of pouring into vulnerable young women and encouraging them as they take on the various challenges that may come their way throughout this year is high on the priority list for We Inspire,” she said.
“January is that time of the year when most people set the goals they want to achieve but it is more often than not adults who focus on these goal-setting activities, and there is hardly any focus on the goals, dreams, and aspirations of our young people,” Bingham McKenzie said.
“I am making it my duty to focus on our young people, our young girls especially, and most importantly, those from vulnerable groups”, she added.
Participants in the workshop will come from the following schools: Spot Valley High, Cambridge High, Anchovy High, Mount Alvernia High, Montego Bay High, and St James High.
Among those expected to give addresses are Nayana Williams, chief executive officer, Lifespan Limited; Angella Whitter, managing director, Whitter Group; and Dr Debbian Spence-Minott, group marketing manager, Seprod.
