Jury sent to deliberate in Shineka Gray murder case
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The jury in Shineka Gray’s case has been sent to deliberate on the fate of Gregory Roberts, who is being tried for the killing of the teen in 2017.
The jury’s duty commenced shortly after Supreme Court Judge Justice Bertram Morrison completed his summation at around 11:05 am.
Gray, a grade 10 student, was found dead three days after she had been reported missing. She was last seen alive in Montego Bay,St James while on her way home from the funeral of a schoolmate.

Roberts and his co-accused, Mario Morrison, were later taken into custody in connection with the killing.
Morrison pleaded guilty in September 2022 after entering a plea deal with the state and was sentenced to life in prison a month later.
