Partnership between US-based church and Trelawny school yielding success
TRELAWNY, Jamaica— United States-based philanthropist Dr Claudette O’brien, the founder and senior pastor of Pinnacle of Faith Ministry has plans to return to the Wakefield Primary School next month where she is expected to handover a freezer to the school.
The clergywoman last visited the school in December at which time she delivered a brand new stove and feted roughly 30 members of staff with Christmas cakes and wines.
The donations were made through a partnership initiated by Councillor Jonathan Bartley (Wakefield Division, Jamaica Labour Party) between the school and O’brien.
“I gave them an industrial stove with an oven and everything and then I gave all the teachers a cake and a bottle of wine for Christmas. I saw online where Auntie Donna was doing her cake sale and I asked Councillor Bartley to order the cakes for the teachers,” O’brien told Observer Online.
“Next month I am going to give them a freezer, they need a freezer,” she added.
Principal of the Wakefield Primary School Michael James is grateful for the partnership developed between the school and Pinnacle of Faith Ministry.
“She’s a top class lady. This lady when you talk about God working miracles for you, you are talking about Dr Claudette O’brien. Through Councillor Bartley we have developed a partnership and she came on board and we met and during discussions she questioned about stuff that the school would need because she was willing to assist us and we indicated that we needed a stove that the teachers could do baking to provide sumptuous meals for our students and she agreed to giving us a stove. But not just that, we needed a freezer as well and she committed to getting us a freezer,” a grateful James said.
