Double-world 100m hurdles champion Danielle Williams to be honoured by alma mater
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Double 100m hurdles World Champion Danielle Williams is set to be honoured at the 22nd staging of The Queen’s/Grace Jackson Meet on Saturday, January 27, at the National Stadium.
Williams, a past student of The Queen’s School, returned to the institution on Friday, where she participated in devotion. As a student, the reigning World Champion represented her alma mater at the annual ISSA Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships before moving on to Johnson C. Smith University in North Carolina.
Williams struck gold in the 100m hurdles in Beijing, China, in 2015 and again in Budapest, Hungary, last year.
Tickets for The Queen’s/Grace Jackson Meet will cost $1,000 per adult, $400 per student (with High School ID), and children (under 12 years old) upon entry. Accommodation will be at the Grand Stand only.
The event is set to get underway at 8:30 am, with the 400m Class 3. The special 60m event for elite athletes will headline the day’s proceedings.
