Action…not a bag a mouth!
Dear Editor,
Prime Minister Andrew Holness, it is just past noon on January 16 and I am listening wearily to your impassioned, campaign-motivated speech in Spanish Town, St Catherine.
You know, Prime Minister, “a caring economy” is such an inspiring-sounding phrase, but what exactly does it mean? Really!
Rather than be as detailed in my submission as I am so used to being, especially since I do not expect to be acknowledged, may I just implore you and your “caring” Administration to start regarding me and your other disabled fellow Jamaicans as worthy of the same level of care that you are proposing for the economy and everyone else.
And I do mean the same proposed level — not in the form of occasional care packages and other hand-outs but accessible employment opportunities, real affordable housing solutions, affordable and accessible public transportation, et cetera.
