UPDATE: Man charged following seizure of AR-15 in Manchester
MANCHSTER, Jamaica— A man has been charged following the seizure of an assault rifle and ammunition during a police operation in New Green, Manchester on Tuesday, January 9.
Charged is 29-year-old Alphanso Mason, otherwise called ‘Tall Man’, a truck driver of Battersea district in New Green, Manchester.
Mason is one of two men who were brought into custody on Tuesday following the seizure of the firearm and ammunition.

He is being charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorised use of premises to store a firearm, unauthorised use of premises to store ammunition, and unauthorised possession of ammunition.
Reports from the Mandeville Police are that about 6:00 am on Tuesday, lawmen carried out an operation at a premises that was occupied by Mason, where one AR15 assault rifle and seven 5.56 rounds of ammunition were found in his possession.
He was subsequently taken into custody and was charged after he was interviewed in the presence of his attorney. A court date for him has not been finalised.
