Renowned Christian philanthropist heading to Jamaica
PASTOR Joe Persaud, a global Christian philanthropist, will headline a major leadership summit at Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in New Kingston this weekend.
The conference is expected to bring together Christian leaders from all sectors of the society and is being designed to energise Christian ministries and outreach efforts across all spheres of Jamaica.
Persaud, who heads Liberty Bible Fellowship in New York, USA, will bring a wide range of financial, developmental and ministry experience to the gathering.
For nearly 40 years, through his ministry and business endeavours, Persaud has initiated and executed poverty alleviation and development programmes in several struggling nations, primarily on the continents of Asia and Africa.
The ministry has also launched, and maintained, microfinancing projects in Haiti, Nigeria, and India. Most recently he helped to rebuild a hospital in Haiti.
His ministry also bought and delivered cattle for several vulnerable families in India, as a business start-up to break the cycle of poverty. Through his ministry Persaud is currently financing the digging of wells in various villages in India so as to provide drinking water for several communities.
The various arms of Liberty are supported by the Persaud family and business enterprises, the congregations, and several teams across the world.
Persaud, who is a devout family man, has done postgraduate work in theology and international affairs. He founded Liberty Bible Fellowship along with his father, with whom he currently co-pastors.
The conference, which is slated for Saturday starting at 9:00 am, will be held under the theme ‘Bridging the Gap Through Transformational Leadership’.
It will be a joint effort by Liberty Bible Fellowship and International Ministries, MTM TV Network, and Freedom Come Ministries International.
