Shane O, Vershon, I Octane to headline Fort Lauderdale Vybs Fest
Like Club Amazura and SOB’s in New York City, The Garden in Lauderdale Lakes is home to dancehall/reggae in South Florida. On March 9, the venue hosts Fort Lauderdale Vybs Fest.
The event is a co-promotion between Feel Good Boss and Jamruss Production. Headliners are deejays Shane O and Vershon, and singjay I Octane with Ras Blinga and Guidance as supporting acts.
Jeanne Russell, head of Jamruss Production, said the show should be a treat for fans of hardcore dancehall music.
“Fans can expect a night of excitement, electrifying dancehall with a mix of culture from these talented artistes, some of whom have not graced the South Florida stage for a few years,” she told Observer Online.
Feel Good Boss is the moniker of Ricardo James, who manages Shane O. The latter, known for songs such as My Last and Dark Room, will be making his first appearance in South Florida since 2018.
Part proceeds from Fort Lauderdale Vybs Fest will be donated to the Hayes Primary and Junior High School in Clarendon. Russell attended that institution which has been her charity for 30 years.
“While they’re supported by the Ministry of Education, it’s very important to assist in every area. Presently, they’re badly in need of a school bus which is my main focus at this time,” she said.
The Garden is located in the heart of South Florida’s massive Jamaican community. In December, it hosted Reunion Of The Kings, which showcased Brigadier Jerry, Little John, Anthony Malvo and Professor Nuts.
