St James records second murder of the year
ST JAMES, Jamaica — Unknown assailants shot and killed a man in downtown Montego Bay, St James on Friday morning.
The deceased has been identified as 24-year-old Shacqkim Lindsay, otherwise called “Teeno” of a Shanty Town address in Paradise, Norwood in the parish.
Lindsay is the second person to be murdered in St James since the start of the year.
According to the police, Lindsay was killed along St James Street at about 4:00 am.
Citizens reportedly heard explosions and alerted the police. Upon the arrival of the lawmen, Lindsay was seen lying on his back with gunshot wounds to the upper body.
He was transported to hospital where he died on arrival.
St James recorded the most murders of all parishes during 2023.
On Wednesday, a mechanic was gunned down in the parish.
