KINGSTON, Jamaica— A trailer became dislodged from the cab of a truck at the intersection of Camp Road and Tom Redcam Avenue in Kingston around 3:30 Wednesday afternoon.
No one was injured during the incident.
When asked what caused the trailer to separate from the truck, the driver pointed to a wearing of the bull pin which is designed to hold the trailer in place while being transported.
“The pin fly and the container drop off. Nobody nuh get damage, everybody in one piece,” the driver told Observer Online.
“You have a thing called the bull pin, them wear after a while. When you put on the bull pin underneath it, sometime it lock and select and sometime you have a little issue. A nuh all the time you feel like it lock, it lock. But me normally do a thumb test… but not because you thumb test it that nuh mean say it safe. You will thumb test and you go down the road and it slide out same way,” the driver explained.
The incident resulted in traffic delays at the intersection, however police were on scene directing motorists while a haulage company tried to reattach the trailer to the truck.
