MDLink fetes disabled patients, care staff at Sir John Golding Rehab Centre
WITH each year of growth and success MDLink has prioritised giving back to the community.
This year, on December 14, 2023, the telemedicine company celebrated the fourth instalment of its Christmas luncheon for the patients and staff at Sir John Golding Rehabilitation Centre. Through this yearly initiative MDLink team seeks to serve disabled adult and paediatric patients and the health-care workers who spend the year tirelessly taking care of them. Most importantly, the team’s focus was on creating an atmosphere of merriment for those who cannot spend the holidays with their families.
Sir John Golding Rehabilitation Centre is a 66-bed hospital founded in 1954 during the polio epidemic. Today the centre caters to patients with congenital illnesses, spinal cord injuries, and any other severe rehabilitation needs. This centre provides specialised support for the needs of patients, regardless of financial and social status.
Founder, CEO and chief medical officer of MDLink, Dr Che Bowen said the day’s proceedings started with prayer, greetings to patients and staff after which all shared in the festivities.
Bowen expressed appreciation to those who have recognised and supported this event and have allowed it to continue year after year, thanking his team for the hard work put in to allow all parts to run smoothly.
He added: “The MDLink Christmas Luncheon sets the tone of giving for the holiday season; and the team goes into the new year knowing that all they have given back is appreciated and celebrated by the communities they serve all year round through quality health care.”
MDLink, at the same time, expressed gratitude to sponsors Chef Shea Stewart, Presto Pasta, KFC, Tru-Juice, Blueprint Events, and Starlight Productions.
