Let the Perfect Brew flow
The Open Allowance contest for three-year-olds and up horses going seven furlongs (1,400m) is the main attraction on tomorrow’s (Sat, Dec 16) nine-race card.
The Jamaica Observer‘s The Supreme Racing Guide analyses the five runners who entered this race and their chances of winning the main event.
1. PERFECT BREW: (4 b g by Bern Identity – Moonlight) – On paper, the obvious choice to win this offering. Perfect Brew, one of the most improved horses in training at present, finished a decent fifth by 9 ¾ lengths in the Mouttet Mile behind American-bred Rough Entry on December 2. He has been working well coming into this race, and based on his Mouttet Mile run, this should be a walk in the park for Perfect Brew.
2. FREEDOM STREET: (4 b g by Uncaptured – Nofashionsense) – Finished third in the Bruceontheloose Sprint on December 2 behind Desert of Malibu and I’ve Got Magic over 6 ½ furlongs (1,300m). Freedom Street was then promoted to second place following the disqualification of first by the post Desert of Malibu. Freedom Street will have no such luck here. Note: tongue-tie off; figure-8 on.
3. RANI BANGALA: (4 b f b Savoy Stomp – Palace Gold) – Had her four-race winning streak halted when finishing down the track in the St Elizabeth Distaff on November 11 behind Desert of Malibu. In this small field, Rani Bangala is expected to impact the outcome mainly as the early leader and if given space upfront, is capable of landing this one.
4. RAINSVILLE: (4 b g by Casual Trick – Fiftyshadesofray) – Came off the pace to beat rivals in the recent Chairman’s Trophy over 9 furlongs and 25 yards (1,820m) on December 2. This vastly improved horse has been making rapid progress at this stage of his career, with this call representing another thrust in his development.
5. LABAN: (6 b h by Sensational Slam – For Trixie) – Not expected to challenge the principals.
