MONTEGO BAY, St James – Sue-Tania Levy’s long-awaited trial for murdering her boyfriend in his Cornwall Courts home five years ago after she caught him with another woman has been rescheduled for next year.

Levy, 27, of Francis Isabella Road in Mount Salem, is charged with the murder of 27-year-old Joel Hanson.

The case could not proceed when it was called up before High Court Judge Bertram Morrison in the St James Circuit Court on Monday because of a scheduling conflict. Justice Morrison had to deal with a part-heard matter.

As a result, the judge rescheduled the defendant’s trial for September 18, 2024 and extended her bail. She is represented by attorney-at-law Tamika Spencer-Anderson.

It is alleged that on August 26, 2018, Levy went to Hanson’s home in Cornwall Courts, St James, where she encountered another female. That did not go down well with Levy and it prompted an argument between herself and Hanson.

During the course of the argument a struggle ensued, and Levy allegedly stabbed Hanson in his groin.

The injured man was assisted to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he succumbed to his injury the following day.
