SLB brouhaha fixed
Dear Claudienne,
In 2015, I borrowed money from the Students’ Loan Bureau (SLB) on behalf of my daughter. The commencement of the loan was December 2015. All the payments to the SLB from the commencement of the loan to the final payment were made via salary deductions. I have worked with the same organisation and there were no deductions missed during the period.
Although the SLB was requested in February 2023, to ask my employer to stop the salary deductions after the final payment on the loan was made, they did not send the company a revocation order. This resulted in an overpayment to the SLB from my salary.
Since February I have made several calls and sent e-mail requests to the SLB for a refund of the monies that were over-deducted from my salary, to no avail.
I would appreciate your help in this matter.
RC
Dear RC,
Tell Claudienne has been in communication with the SLB in respect of the overpayment they have received on the loan. You have sent the column the following e-mail:
“Thanks for your assistance. I can confirm that the refund was deposited to my account on Friday, December 1, 2023.”
We wish you all the best.
