Ex-cop turned cabbie gunned down in Portmore

ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — A taxi operator was shot and killed in the Kingston Eastern police division on Thursday evening.

He has been identified as Keniel Wilson, an ex-member of the Jamaica Constabulary Force of a St Catherine address.

Information reaching Observer Online is that sometime after 7 pm, Wilson was standing beside his motorcar on Kensington Road in Portmore when two armed men walked up to him and engaged in a brief conversation before shooting him. His licensed firearm was also stolen.

He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Investigations are ongoing.
