Good citizens deserve good things
Dear Editor,
We would like our own citizens’ association recreational building in Mount View.
The association has had to be meeting via WhatsApp to discuss its business. This is unacceptable and we are demanding that the local government or the Government itself builds us a community recreational centre, where we can meet in person and feel more at home.
We are not squatters, we don’t live in the ghetto, but we are not afforded the luxury of being able to sit in a building when we have meetings.
All of us are law-abiding citizens, and we pay our land taxes every year; however, we don’t have a recreational building. Maybe we need to block the road and “gwaan bad” in order to get changes in the community.
We vote when we should and fix the roads when they need repair so that we don’t have pot holes. This has all been in vain as the Government seems to have forgotten about us.
The houses in the Mount View community are more upscale than those in Keystone yet they have a community recreational building.
We would like our condition to be ameliorated – that’s all we want!
