Tapper Zukie gives something for all ages
World-renowned reggae recording artiste Tapper Zukie is getting ready for the digital release of his latest album, Bunker Buster, distributed by Zojak World Wide.
The album is slated to be released on December 1.
“This is a reggae album and it’s meant to let the world know that I’m still here. These are songs that children can follow, it’s for people of all ages,” the artiste told the Jamaica Observer.
Containing 16 tracks, the album is graced by a line-up of musical giants, featuring the likes of Junior Reid, Mykal Rose, Half Pint, Beres Hammond, Ronnie David, Junior Ross, and Pam Hall, among others.
With the work that has gone into the album’s production it promises to take the world by storm, adding to the artiste’s already impressive discography.
With a career dating back over 50 years, Tapper Zukie is a multifaceted musician, wearing several hats and boasting many accolades.
His first album, Man A Warrior, was released in 1971. With follow-ups including M.P.L.A., the artiste has since graced the airwaves with over a dozen memorable albums and is showing no signs of slowing down any time soon.
“For me, it started from being a rude little boy at home. I started singing songs around the house, before taking it to the streets. My love for music started around the age of 12,” the artiste said.
Born in Jamaica, Tapper Zukie pursued music when he went to England at a young age and continued after returning to Jamaica. Experiencing several ups and downs in his career, he started off as an apprentice with Jamaican producer Striker Lee and expanded his production horizons from there. As a producer, Tapper Zukie has worked with many greats, producing and performing with acts such as U-Roy, Alton Ellis, John Holt, Sugar Minott, Yami Bolo, Frankie Paul, Third World, Beenie Man, and Bounty Killer.
With this digital release in the pipeline, Tapper Zukie is aiming to reintroduce music from previous vinyl releases in digital spaces. He is currently working on a project with reggae artiste Gregory Isaacs, with his songs being released digitally along with two brand new singles. All of these new projects will be in collaboration with Zojak World Wide.
In addition, the artiste is also getting ready for several live performances, with a forthcoming tour in Europe and Africa, as well as an appearance on the Rebel Salute line-up and an upcoming project with Cornell Campbell.
