Moca beat Harbour View 2-1 in Caribbean Cup third place playoff
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Moca FC lead Jamaica’s Harbour View 2-1 after the first leg of their third place play-off in the Concacaf Caribbean Cup competition at Sabina Park on Tuesday.
The Dominican Republic team trailed 1-0 early in the first half, thanks to an own goal but rallied in the second half to take a one goal lead back home into next Tuesday’s return leg.
The winner on aggregate will join Jamaica’s Cavalier SC and Robin Hood FC of Surname in next season’s Concacaf Champions League.
Cavalier SC and Robin Hood will meet in the final, set for Suriname on Thursday, November 30, and the return leg next week Wednesday in Jamaica.
On Tuesday at Sabina Park, Clifford Thomas turned a ball past his own goalkeeper Odalis Baez in the 15th minute to give Harbour View the lead.
Gustavo Ascona drew the visitors’ level just before half time when he headed past Harbour View’s goalkeeper Anthony Bennett in the 43rd minute.
Jose Francisco grabbed the winner in the 65th minute, also heading the ball past Bennett.
