WATCH: Security forces clash with Mountain View residents after ‘Scrums’ killed
ST ANDREW, Jamaica — There is a heavy security presence on Mountain View Avenue, between Jarrett Lane and Saunders Avenue in St Andrew, as residents protest the fatal shooting of a man in the area on Monday morning.
Residents have erected road block as they voice their anger at the slaying of the man identified only by his alias, ‘Scrums’.
Scrums was reportedly shot and killed during a joint police-military operation. A gun was reportedly seized during the incident in which a soldier was also shot and injured.

Residents are accusing the police of using excessive force during the operation. In videos circulating on social media, residents can be seen confronting law enforcers as they try to clear debris mounted on the road. It appeared that the exchange got physical at one point.
Motorists and pedestrians were being urged to use alternative routes wherever possible as the incident resulted in the vicinity being cordoned off by law enforcers.
