Jamaica issues tropical storm watch
Government has issued a tropical storm watch for the island effective 5pm Thursday, the Meteorological Service of Jamaica has announced.
The advisory comes as weather conditions continue to worsen across the island due to an area of low pressure in the southwestern Caribbean.
The Met Service had earlier Thursday issued a flash flood watch for all parishes which will remain in place until 8:00am on Friday.

A flash flood watch means that flash flooding is possible.
“Residents should take precautionary measures, keep informed and be ready for quick action if flooding is observed or if a warning is issued,” the weather service said in a post on X, formerly Twitter, on Thursday afternoon.
