JFDF Wraps with Brunch In The Hills
The curtains came down in spectacular style Sunday last on the ninth staging of the Jamaica Food + Drink Festival (JFDF).
The misty hills of Peter’s Rock, a peak in St Andrew, was the venue. The panoramic view afforded was worth the 40-minute ride from Norbrook and was the only thing that could lure brunchers from chef Trevanne Donegal’s tantalising Visa-branded smorgasbord.
Reels, snaps, and selfies secured in the cosy-chic setting curated by Shikima Hinds for Shikima Hinds Events Concierge, guests had the choice of roast meats from Chef Simon Levy’s carving station, shellfish from Chef Oji Jaja’s seafood station; and the best farm-to-table fare from the Stush In The Bush Jamaican Mezze.
“Suzanne and I haven’t been at all the events, but everything we’ve been to has been good,” said NCB CEO Bruce Bowen as he formalised the proceeding. This is the second year NCB Capital Markets has fronted Brunch In The Hills, and guests were in for a surprise.
“We value originality, and we value individuality, and so when we thought about that theme we said there are no two original artwork that’s quite the same. And it’s the same way we view our investors. And so what better way to make that connection? Two lucky patrons will win art pieces, designed and created by Alphanso Blake, who was so gracious enough to allow us to showcase his pieces,” said NCB Marketing Manager, Wealth, Regional and Insurance Donnette Hines.
