Discovered by Faith
In a celebration of love and faith, Ashley Brady and Javier Stephenson tied the knot on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at the UWI, Mona Chapel. The charming ceremony was officiated by their pastor, Horace Bennett, and beautifully captured by RT3 Media.
The couple’s wedding theme was a blend of rustic and modern elements, with a colour palette featuring deep olive green, gold, gold bronze, and brown. The focal point of their decor was a cross-shaped arch, symbolising the foundation of their union, rooted in their shared faith in Christ.
Ashley and Javier’s love story is a testament to the power of chance encounters. They were introduced to each other after a church service by a mutual friend and quickly discovered their shared interests. Much of their courtship unfolded on Saturdays at their cherished spot, a bridge in Javier’s community. After three years of courtship, Javier proposed during a romantic dinner at the Blue Window Restaurant at the Pegasus Hotel, with Ashley’s closest friends present.
The couple entrusted the décor and planning of their special day to Shonick from Let’s Talk Weddings Ja. The bridal party was a close-knit group of friends and family, with Marjani Bonnick-Oliver serving as the maid of honour and Horace Bennett Jr (son of the officiant) as the best man.
Ashley was stunning in a mermaid wedding gown, designed by Clothed By Sarah and inspired by a design she found online. Javier and his groomsmen were dashing in their ensembles as well; Javier wore a three-piece green suit with a white shirt and bronze tie, while the groomsmen donned brown pants with brown suspenders, white shirts, and green bow ties. The bridesmaids were equally enchanting in golden brown infinity dresses, each wearing a unique style.
The bride’s bouquet was a delicate combination of ruscus, baby’s breath, carnations, and chrysanthemums, adding a touch of timeless elegance to the day.
The processional for the bridesmaids featured an instrumental rendition of A Million Dreams by Hugh Jackman, Michelle Williams, and Ziv Zaifman while the bride’s processional was accompanied by the instrumental of Rewrite the Stars by Anne-Marie and James Arthur.
During the signing of the register, a rendition of Daniel Caesar’s Best Part was beautifully performed by friends of the newly-weds Shellesia Neil and Kevaughn Knight. The ceremony concluded with a joyous recessional to Good Woman by Romain Virgo.
Instead of hosting a reception, Mr and Mrs Stephenson embarked on their new journey as a married couple with a honeymoon at Couples Sans Souci, marking an ideal beginning to their lifelong adventure together.
