AppleKings donates to Jamaica Cancer Society to fund 25 mammograms
In a show of solidarity with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, local tech company AppleKings has donated to the Jamaica Cancer Society to facilitate 25 free mammograms.
Throughout the month of October, the company utilised its platforms to encourage awareness as it said it firmly believes that taking action is one of the most effective ways to make a difference.
Breast cancer is a critical issue, and early detection plays a pivotal role in saving lives. AppleKings’ initiative to support the Jamaica Cancer Society by financing mammograms, the company said, will enable some women to access this essential screening tool, empowering them to take control of their health.
“We don’t want to just wear pink, or just speak awareness on our platforms, we want to support with action,” stated AppleKings CEO Karim Grant.
In the meantime, Jamaica Cancer Society expressed its heartfelt gratitude to AppleKings for its contribution to cancer awareness and making mammograms accessible to women in Jamaica.
AppleKings has committed itself to playing its part with respect to bettering the Jamaican society. As October, which is recognised as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, draws to a close, the company’s contribution serves as a reminder that raising awareness goes beyond mere tokenism.
