Take Style Out with Multilink
MultiLink operator JETS Limited says it is proud of the role the platform has played in supporting local businesses and the Jamaican public for more than 25 years, including as a sponsor this year of the Jamaica Observer’s annual weekend retail shopping blitz, Take Style Out (TSO).
Shopping during TSO 2023, which started Thursday and runs through to Saturday, is made much easier using a MultiLink debit card.
MultiLink is Jamaica’s largest debit payment network and so shopping or paying bills locally is safer and more convenient.
“There is no need to travel with large sums of cash as using your Multilink debit card affords you the easy convenience of immediate access to your funds while shopping,” JETS said in a release.
Seven of Jamaica’s leading financial institutions – CIBC FirstCaribbean Bank, Jamaica Cooperative Credit Union League, JN Bank, NCB, Sagicor Bank, Scotiabank and VMBS –are all a part of the MultiLink system. This allows debit card holders from these institutions to use Automated Banking Machines (ABM’s) or Point of Sale Machines (POS), operated by any other member financial institution on the MultiLink network, to purchase goods or services confidently and safely or withdraw cash from their accounts across the country.
MultiLink was established in June 1997 and is unmatched in terms of customer access across Jamaica. MultiLink cardholders are readily able to use over 868 ABMs and more than 19,868 POS machines. Approximately 800-thousand customers each month utilised the network via their debit cards issued by their own financial institution. Over 1.87 million Multilink enabled debit cards have been used on the network in the past 12 months.
CEO of JETS Limited, Edmundo Jenez, in expressing pride over the important role the company plays in Jamaica, noted that through its MultiLink system, it provides lower transaction costs to local businesses, which enables them to better serve their customers, keep jobs afloat and in turn grow the Jamaican economy.
In its over 25 years of operation, the MultiLink debit card network has delivered reliable, consistent service and JETS Ltd is always seeking ways to improve its service and keep the many thousands of Jamaicans who use it connected with their accounts.
For the past few years, holders of MultiLink enabled debit cards can use a mix of EMV (to Tap or Chip/Insert) and Mag Stripe swipe card technologies, making it safe and easy to enjoy the Take Style Out sales event and beyond.
