Chanell Angeli Skyers, whose father, Vincent Skyers, is from Port Antonio, Jamaica, and her mother Brenda Bishop Thompson’s family is from Barbados and Grenada, where great uncle Maurice Bishop was former prime minister of Grenada. Chanell, a renowned mixed media artist, uses natural materials, including metal and wood, to create three-dimensional pieces and is known for her striking and emotive paintings.
