Keneea Linton Wows @ Portugal Fashion Week
Jamaican fashion designer Keneea Linton debuted her Port Antonio SS24 Collection at Portugal Fashion Week 2023 in Porto at the Museu Do Carro Electrico, Alameda de BasÃlio Teles (Tram Museum) on Saturday, October 14.
The collection, according to Linton, was inspired by the glamour associated with the parish of Portland, which was, during the ’50s often referenced as a veritable playground for Hollywood A-listers.
The Portie wardrobe features a striking black and white colour palette of 30 pieces created from soft cotton, luxurious silks, and crisp linen. Each piece embodies the fusion of vintage glamour and eco-sustainable style, offering a range of looks, from swimwear and daywear to eveningwear perfect for an island escape. The silhouettes celebrate the female form with low-rise mermaid skirts, elegantly tailored gowns, and delicate ruffles. In essence, the edit speaks to femininity, luxury, and classic charm.
Linton was selected by ‘CANEX presents Africa at Portugal Fashion’ to represent the Caribbean. Her collection closed the show, and brought Portugal Fashion Week to a suitably dramatic end.
CANEX Presents Africa @ Portugal Fashion provides a platform for the development of emerging fashion designers by supporting the transfer of skills through mentorship from industry experts, while providing market access opportunities to boost production sales and distribution. The programme aims to equip participants with the skills that will enable them to create financially sustainable businesses with the potential to scale, as well as provide support with go-to-market and internationalisation strategies.
