Faimous gears up for EP release
Even though he was born in The Bronx, New York, to Jamaican parents, DJ Faimous has kept Jamaican culture at the forefront of his life.
Aside from being a disc jock/selector, he is also a music producer, events promoter, and a recording artiste.
One of his major assignments is the release of his forthcoming EP, which he says will showcase his musical side. The untitled project is earmarked for release over the next few months.
“The fans can expect another side of Faimous. My supporters and clients are accustomed to me just hosting an event or playing music at their event, but now they will get the full Faimous experience,” Faimous disclosed.
The six-song EP will feature production work by Broadway, Ez Music, Bun Up TV Records, Blackout, and Dretegs.
“I am looking forward to sharing my music with the world. I have released various songs in the past and now this full body of work will show my evolution and musical creativity,” said Faimous.
Faimous and C-Bird co-owner of Broadway Sound system began playing music at events in 1999. He has played at gigs in the United States, the Caribbean, and even in Jamaica, which he visits at least twice each year.
As a promoter, among the shows he has promoted are those featuring Masicka, Shenseea, Kranium, Chino, and Alkaline. He also hosts weekly events, including Refill Tuesdays in New York. On October 15 he hosted his annual I’m Famous party in New York.
Among the songs he has produced and released are Grabba Haffi Hot, featuring his brother and known producer Ez Music; Tin Man; Hickey; Scotch Peppa, featuring producer/singer Bizzy Da Bachelor and Precki Di Balla; and The Pledge.
Said Faimous, “I always had a love and passion for music. From a tender age I would play at family and close friends’ backyard events, such as barbecues and birthday parties. As a DJ, I believe I bring therapy.
I’ve been told and thanked repeatedly for making someone’s day simply from listening to a live audio on my SoundCloud. I have a true passion for music and entertaining people so you can always expect me to bring my brand and pure vibes.”
