Jamaica wins Best Culinary Destination in Caribbean
Jamaica was named the ‘Caribbean’s Best Culinary Destination’ at the 2023 World Culinary Awards ceremony held at Atlantis The Royal in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The country was selected from other world leading brands, based on votes casted by culinary industry professionals and the general public. The nominees with the most votes in a category were named the winner.
“Our World Culinary Awards 2023 winners represent stellar examples of excellence in the culinary industry, and I congratulate each and every one for helping to raise the collective benchmark to even greater heights. My congratulations to each of them,” said Rina van Staden, Director of the World Culinary Awards.
Other winners within the region included the Barbados Food and Rum Festival which won the award of ‘Caribbean’s Best Culinary Festival’ and the Stone Barn at Park Hyatt St Kitts Christophe Harbour which was awarded the ‘Caribbean’s Best Fine Dining Hotel Restaurant.
World Culinary Awards is the sister event to World Travel Awards which is currently celebrating its 30th anniversary.
In August, during the World Travel Awards, Jamaica copped 33 awards, chief among them was being named the Caribbean’s Leading Destination.
Jamaica was also voted the Caribbean’s Leading Cruise Destination, Caribbean’s Leading Cruise Port, and was also awarded for possessing the Caribbean’s Leading Tourist Board, and the Caribbean’s Leading Airport.
