Cat Coore to feature in ‘priceless’ performance
Guitarist Stephen ”Cat” Coore, co-founder of Third World, is the featured artiste for this evening’s live show at Pon Top Seafood Bar And Grill, Westminister Road, in Kingston.
The band, which he started with keyboardist Ibo Cooper, celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
Richard Bell, proprietor at Pon Top Seafood Bar And Grill, describes his appearance at the restaurant as “priceless”.
“I’ve been a fan of Third World since I was a youth, and Cat has always been my favourite guitarist, so much so that he has played on quite a few Startrail recordings,” Bell told the Jamaica Observer.
Bell is also principal of Startrail Records, which produced a number of hit songs during the 1990s including Lift up Your Head by Everton Blender, Hello Mama Africa by Garnet Silk and Anthony B’s Fire pon Rome.
He gave 96 Degrees in The Shade, Cool Meditation, Jah Glory, Now That we Found Love and Try Jah Love as his favourite Third World songs.
Singer Kumar Fyah is also part of this evening’s show.
