In a glitzy and fashionable event the Jamaica Manufacturers and Exporters Association (JMEA) celebrated excellence at this year’s staging of its M&E awards gala held on September 30 at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel in Kingston.
The event, which recognised and honoured the outstanding achievements of top companies within the country’s manufacturing and export industries, at the end of the night saw 26 awards being presented to distinguished companies and individuals who have made significant contributions to the Jamaican economy and the local sector.
The Wisynco Group, which was named the biggest winner of the night, copped three major awards. Other entities such as Red Stripe, J Wray & Nephew, P A Benjamins, and Designs by Marc also emerged as prominent contenders in the competition, securing two awards each. These companies were also joined by some other up-and-coming businesses, which included Camko Manufacturing, Dawson Trading, Tropicks365, and Le Champ Cosmetics, taking home some of the newest awards.
This year’s gala hosted by media personality Debbie Bissoon was a night to remember, marked by elegance and sophistication, drawing inspiration from the iconic world of James Bond.
