Give us bathrooms!
Dear Editor,
In recent weeks I have had to visit three commercial banks. The shortest service time was at CIBC FirstCaribbean in New Kingston. Still, I hoped to have been out in under 20 minutes for my single transaction.
At National Commercial Bank, New Kingston, I had over an hour’s wait to get the new debit card.
But the worst was Scotiabank, New Kingston. Two hours on Wednesday morning just to pay a bill?
I know they want us online, but the automated banking machines are still not accepting the new banknotes.
Since some transactions are going to take us in-branch and the banks seem set on keeping us inside when we visit — chairs and all — please give us access to restrooms so we don’t lose our dignity while we wait.
I don’t know about anyone else, but as the ageing process grabs a hold of my loins, going two hours without bathroom access runs the risk of me losing more than my cool.
