Scream halloween party set to invade UWI Mona
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Hourz Entertainment, an enterprising group of present students and recent graduates of the University of the West Indies (Mona), has pooled its resources to stage the second annual Scream halloween party series.
The event is set to unfold on Saturday, October 28, at the University of the West Indies.
Keifa Desnoes, heads the committee tasked with promoting the event.
“Jamaicans are a lot more accepting of the Halloween theme. Last year we had more than 2,500 patrons and it was amazing,” said Desnoes in an interview with Observer Online at the launch of the event last Friday at JACANA in New Kingston.
“Our theme this year is Thrill of Mystery and patrons can come dressed in Halloween costumes or dress in whatever they wish. The entire venue will be decorated in keeping with the theme.”
Leading up to the staging of Scream, the team will be in promotion mode at various events and parties across the Corporate Area, in what is dubbed Screamtober, a marketing activation to drum up support for the main event.
“We will be having activations throughout the month at various events, basically an event tour and a take over of various events as well as online activations on social media. We are promising a really unique experience,” said Desnoes.
An impressive line-up of DJs has been tasked to provide the musical thrills at Scream. They include DJs Jubba, DJ Breeze, Brush1 & DJ Franco, DJ Kryptic and Fyahman, X Factor and ZJ Romzinova.
