Michelle-Ann, The PR Belle
WHEN public relations (PR) and marketing communications specialist Michelle-Ann Letman decided to start a business — PR Belle Media — during the heights of the pandemic in September 2020 while still fully employed at her corporate job, she didn’t yet have it all figured out.
Now, three years later and a full-time entrepreneur, Letman shared with Career & Education that while she is still getting the hang of being a business owner, she is clear about the vision she has for her company. It’s a vision that is built on the ethos of empowerment and celebration — empowering and celebrating people, their passions, their businesses, their accomplishments, their courage, their drive, their grit… their lives.
“Ultimately, PR Belle is about helping to strengthen the brand positioning for businesses and individuals by identifying strategic media opportunities, developing key messages, and crafting and sharing compelling and emotive stories that connect with the human spirit,” Letman said. “By utilising the art of public relations across traditional and new media platforms, I am able to contribute to building clients’ brand visibility, credibility, authenticity, affinity, and profitability.”
Known as the “PR Belle” in professional circles, Letman shared that over the past three years she has had the opportunity to work with numerous corporate companies, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and individuals to support their brand-building, communications, marketing, and public relations campaigns. From titans in the financial and FMCG sector, SMEs in technology, health care and education, to individual brands, PR Belle’s client roster is diverse and ever-growing.
Looking ahead to year four, the PR Belle (@prbellemedia) shared that she has a number of plans to further propel the growth of her public relations and marketing communications agency. Most immediate is the launch of her coaching programme ‘PowHER Up’, which is geared towards supporting female entrepreneurs and career-driven women on their personal and professional brand journeys.
“Empowerment is at the heart of PowHER Up,” Letman said. “This one-on-one programme is designed to provide women with a strategic and practical road map to guide them to having successful brands and business.”
As she reflected on the lessons and triumphs over the last three years, Letman shared that she is excited about the future prospects for PR Belle Media.
“So far it has been a purpose-driven journey,” she said. “Certainly not without its challenges, but it gives me tremendous fulfilment each time I am able to successfully position a client and yield positive results from my efforts. I aspire to a level of mastery in my craft, where PR Belle is synonymous with excellence and is a sought-after agency with clients from across the globe.”
