It’s been 10 years since the Mona School of Business merged with the Department of Management Studies to create what’s now known as the Mona School of Business & Management (MSBM), and the principals are understandably in celebratory mode!
Indeed, MSBM leaders, partners, past heads, and executive directors were lauded Thursday last, inside the Jamaica Pegasus ballroom at a black-tie gala and awards ceremony that saw corporate leaders receiving Business Excellence Awards.
There was, too, acknowledgement of emerging business leaders; a nod to an outstanding public sector CEO; and recognition of distinguished alumni.
The highlight of the evening, though, was the organisation’s charitable gesture. “We not only teach business but do business at the MSBM. So against that background … I am pleased to announce that the MSBM will be awarding 10 scholarships (five undergraduate and five postgraduate) to students who have demonstrated excellence in their chosen field,” said Executive Director Dr David McBean. He urged those present to contribute to even more scholarships “to both celebrate excellence as well as to help needy students complete their courses of study”.
