I live in Duhaney Park, Kingston 20. Since July sewage in the manholes on my road has been flowing into my front yard.

The unpleasant smell has forced me and my neighbours to keep our doors closed despite the heat and our children cannot play outside. Our level of discomfort is very high.

The road is a mess as it is covered with sewage water.

We have made the National Water Commission (NWC) aware of the situation but their fix has been temporary and the problem keeps recurring.

We cannot tolerate anymore of this unpleasant stench. This situation is unhealthy and we are hoping that you can help us have the NWC fix the problem.

Tell Claudienne contacted the NWC,

The NWC said that the problem was caused by a collapsed sewer main in close vicinity to your road. This resulted in sewage backing up at a number of points. The NWC spokesman said that the sewage surfaced in locations where the manholes were lowest and in these areas the commission used stop-gap measures to alleviate the problem for a short period.

The NWC then instituted an emergency contract and used it to fix a number of damaged pipelines that were the source of the problem causing the discomfort in your area.
