Best-of-three semis Saturday
MONTEGO BAY, St James – GRANVILLE Jaguars and Boys Club Warriors will take a one-game lead into Saturday’s second game of the best-of-three semi-finals in the Western Basketball Association’s Men’s Invitational League, against Cricket Club Knights and Catherine Hall All-Stars, respectively, at Montego Bay Cricket Club.
After the first games were rained out last Saturday, fourth-ranked Granville Jaguars beat number one-ranked Cricket Club Knights 71-65 on Sunday while third-ranked Boys Club Warriors got by second-ranked Catherine Hall 73-64 that same day.
If Cricket Club and Catherine Hall win Saturday’s games and level the series, the decisive third games would be played on Sunday; but if not, then the best-of-three final would start on Sunday instead.
Meanwhile, the Women’s Invitational final between Lady Elite1 and Lady Warriors will start on Sunday. If there are three games scheduled the start time would be 4:30 pm, but if there are only two games it would tip-off 30 minutes later.
On Sunday, Hubert Rodney registered a double-double as Granville held off Cricket Club by six points, scoring 10 points and racking up 11 rebounds, while Anthuan McFarlane just missed a double-double by a rebound after he scored 10 points and had nine rebounds.
