Watch Pablo YG
Dancehall artiste Pablo YG was one of the biggest breakout deejays of the summer.
He achieved this feat with several tracks including Rich N Richer, which is almost two million views on YouTube.
“My goal with this project is to penetrate my local market and beyond. This project is my chance to level up, to show my potential, and that I’m a growing brand,” he told Jamaica Observer.
The track is featured on the Bad Juvi mixtape, which was released on July 7. The project also included Jahvillani, Kraff Gad, 450, Moyann, Bayka, and Skillibeng.
With main producers including YGF Records, Spinaz YG Muzik, and 23 Recordz, co-productions were done by DJ Mac, Antsman, Momentum Entertainment, Blueface Records, Major Records and Squingy Music.
The mixtape has also been climbing up the ranks, having gone #1 in three countries, namely Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, and Turks and Caicos Islands. It has also charted in other countries such as Barbados, the United Kingdom, St Lucia, the United States, and St Kitts and Nevis.
With other tracks released over the course of his career such as Smile Now Cry Later, Fresh, Booming, and Who Dem, Pablo YG draws from his experiences to pen his music.
With more projects in the pipeline, the artiste, whose given name is Romeo Hines, said his aim at the moment is to keep his eyes on the prize.
“My goal as an artiste right now is to début on the Sumfest stage. What I want to inspire others to do is keep working; everyday you can improve,” the artiste said.
