Clarendon man charged with buggery after allegedly robbing, assaulting ‘foreigner’
KINGSTON, Jamaica— A Clarendon man has been charged after he allegedly robbed a foreigner at knifepoint and sexually assaulted him at a hotel in Kingston on February 18, 2023.
Charged with buggery, grievous sexual assault and robbery with aggravation is 25-year-old Nicholas Lawrence, a vendor from Portland Cottage.
According to police reports, an individual residing overseas had made arrangements to meet with one of Lawrence’s friends, however, Lawrence reportedly accompanied his friend to the rendezvous point in the hotel’s lobby around 11:00 pm.
Once inside the complainant’s room, the two men allegedly brandished a pair of scissors and a knife and proceeded to bound the victim’s hand and gag his mouth before robbing him of three cellular phones and items of clothing.
The robbers then reportedly sexually assaulted the complainant.
Lawrence was taken into custody and later pointed out during an identification parade. He was charged following an interview in the presence of his attorney.
His court date is being arranged.
