Jahvillani addresses crime in new track
Dancehall deejay Jahvillani has released a track that he says depicts the true state of society.
Titled Shoota, the single was produced by Neeclos of Outlaw Entertainment.
“The song is about a shooter and the crimes or criminal justice that normally take place in the ghetto,” the artiste told the Jamaica Observer adding, “I would describe this track as being a perfect reflection of what normally takes place in our society. I hope the people will receive it well, with the message we are trying to bring across.”
Released on August 19, the song has already received positive feedback.
Music was something Jahvillani (real name Dujon Mario Edwards) aspired to do professionally, even though he graduated from Ocho Rios High School with seven passes at Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate level.
Hailing from Great Pond district, he released his first song, Badda Dan Dem, in 2013. It was produced by YGF Records.
Meanwhile, Neeclos said that the collaboration with him and the deejay was a long-time coming.
“It has always been a part of my plan as a producer to work with the artistes. I have watched [Jahvillani] over the years now and have always been inspired by his music. Seeing that he has always been endorsing Outlaw, I thought it would be a great opportunity for us to work with him,” Neeclos told the Observer.
Steadily reeling out the hits, some of Outlaw’s most recent releases include the Reflection EP by Fiercee1, Dear World by Real Dreem, Lawd Jezas by Rolando Blake, Love Story by Anthony B, Big House by Shane O, and Silent Chop by Kan Whyte.
“I would describe my style of music as inspirational, realistic, and motivational,” the producer stated.
Following Shoota, more music is in the pipeline for Outlaw Entertainment, with another track by Tenn Point to be released on the same rhythm, as well as another collaboration with Jahvillani on the Trust Issue rhythm.
“We have a few projects in the pipeline. At the moment we have a few videos set to be released over the next few months. You can look for songs from artistes such as Shane O, Gage, Anthony B, Kant10t, Tenn Point, Kan Whyte, Rolando Blake,1ne D Don, Retykal, 1Byng, Town Man, and Chronic Law,” the producer added.
