#WorldChamps2023: Lamara Distin places fifth in high jump
Jamaica’s Lamara Distin ended her 2023 World Athletics Championships campaign with a fifth-place finish in the final of the women’s high jump at the National Athletics Centre in Budapest, Hungary.
Distin, who is the 2022 Commonwealth Games champion, cleared a height of 1.94m, having failed to get over 1.97m.
Yaroslava Mahuchikh of Ukraine won the gold after clearing 2.01m. The Australian pair of Eleanor Patterson, who registered a season’s best of 1.99m and Nicole Olyslagers (1.99) won the silver and bronze medals, respectively.
