#WorldChamps2023: Jamaica’s men’s 4x100m team advance to final
Jamaica’s men’s 4x100m relay team has advanced to Saturday’s final of the event at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
The quartet of Ackeem Blake, Oblique Seville, Ryiem Forde and Rohan Watson clocked a season’s best (SB) time of 37.68 seconds for second place in heat one. It was the fastest time by a Jamaican sprint relay team since the 2016 Rio Olympics.
The United States won in a time of 37.67 while Japan finished third in a SB of 37.71 seconds.
Italy, who ran a world-leading time of 37.65 seconds, South Africa (37.72/SB), Great Britain and Northern Ireland (38.01), France (37.98/SB) and Brazil (38.19) are the other finalists in the event.
The men’s 4x100m final is scheduled for 2:40 pm Jamaica time.
