Retraction
In our story headlined ‘We will not bow to threats’ published on Wednesday, we quoted Tennis Jamaica President Mr John Azar describing national tennis player Mr Blaise Bicknell’s behavior as “seemingly unhinged”.
The story also quotes Mr Azar as saying that Bicknell’s conduct seemed to stem solely from his disappointment in not having his brother automatically selected for to the team.
We have no evidence to support the claim that Mr Bicknell’s behaviour was seemingly unhinged or that his conduct seemed to stem from disappointment that his brother was not automatically selected to the team.
We, therefore, unreservedly retract the publication of those comments and apologise to Mr Bicknell.
