#WorldChamps2023: Rushell Clayton cops bronze in 400m hurdles
Jamaica’s Rushell Clayton on Thursday copped the bronze medal in the women’s 400m hurdles at the 19th staging of the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
Clayton, who also won bronze at the 2019 staging of the Championships in Doha, Qatar, dipped under 53 seconds for the first time, running a personal best of 52.81 for bronze.
Her compatriots Janieve Russell (54.28) and Andrenette Knight (55.20) finished seventh and eighth, respectively.
The overwhelming favourite Femke Bol of the Netherlands won the event in 51.70 while America’s Shamier Little claimed the silver in a season’s best of 52.80.
