#WorldChamps2023: Danielle Williams stuns field to win 100m hurdles gold
Just as she did at the Beijing World Championships in 2015, Jamaica’s Danielle Williams stunned the field to win gold in the women’s 100m hurdles at the National Athletics Centre in Budapest, Hungary on Thursday.
Williams had a brilliant run from lane one, storming to season’s best of 12.43 seconds for the gold medal.
Her compatriot Ackera Nugent finished fifth in 12.61 seconds.
Puerto Rico’s Jasmine Camacho-Quinn won the silver medal with a time of 12.44, while the bronze went to former world record holder Kendra Harrison of America (12.46).
