#WorldChamps2023: Navasky Anderson’s 800m pursuit ends in preliminaries
National record holder Navasky Anderson did not make it to the semi-final of the men’s 800m after finishing fifth in heat two in a time of 1:45.81 seconds at the Budapest World Championships on Tuesday.
His race was won by Mateusz Borkowski of Poland (1:45:40).
Great Britain’s Max Burgin (1:45.43) and Australia’s Joseph Deng (1:45.48) were the second and third-place finishers.
The Jamaican broke his own national record in the event after he ran 1:44.70 seconds at the DC Track Championships in Fairfax, Virginia last month.
Anderson suffered through an injury-plagued season, making the World Athletics qualifying standard hours before the qualifying window closed.
