#WorldChamps2023: Hyde, Clarke advance; Wilson out of 400m hurdles semis
Jaheel Hyde and Roshawn Clarke will be the Jamaican representatives in the semi-finals of the men’s 400m hurdles at the 19th staging of the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
Hyde ran a perfectly timed race in lane nine to clock a time of 48.63, finishing second behind America’s Rai Benjamin (48.35) in heat five.
After struggling to find his rhythm, national champion and debutant Roshawn Clarke pulled through to claim the third place spot in heat four, recording a time of 48.39 seconds.
Meanwhile, Assinie Wilson did not finish his race after he fell at the start of heat one.
The semi-final of the event is scheduled for Monday at 12:35 pm Jamaica time.
