#WorldChamps2023: Ackelia Smith places 11th in long jump
Jamaica’s Ackelia Smith finished 11th in the final of the women’s long jump at the National Athletics Centre in Budapest, Hungary on Sunday.
Smith, who won the NCAA Division One Outdoors Championships this year and has a lifetime best of 7.08m, recorded a mark of 6.51m (+0.3m/s).
The event was won by Serbia’s Ivana Vuleta in a world-leading jump of 7.14m, while Tara Davis-Woodhall finished second with 6.19m and Alina Rotaru-Kottman claimed the bronze medal with 6.88m.
Smith will contest the qualification round of the triple jump on Wednesday at 12:10 pm Jamaica time.
